How are you?

3 computers for the whole class

Our World 2, Student’s book pages 92, 93, 96, 98, 99, 100, Gabrielle Pritchard, National Geographic Learning, 2017.

·         By the end of the project the students will be able to talk about how people feel using adjectives related to feelings and the Present Simple tense.

Warm up:

Ask Sts how they are feeling. Elicit adjectives to describe feelings.

Pre Teach Vocabulary:

Show pictures of children with facial expressions showing different emotions. Elicit meaning and ask concept checking questions to check meaning.

In three groups, Sts play the following game from Educaplay. The group that completes the activity first is the winner.

Reading activity:





Gist task: Sts look at the title of the text and pictures and predict what the text is about. Then, they read quickly to check if they were correct.



Detailed Reading task: Sts read the questions and choose the correct option in the following Educaplay activity.


Follow up Speaking task:

In pairs or groups of 3, Sts ask each other questions about face painting.

¨What do you want on your face? I want a butterfly¨

Vocabulary revision:

This report outlines the main topics addressed in the article ”English for the Underserved. Alternative technologies to bridge the digital divide.”   by Michael Carrier. Carrier explains that the lack of ICT in emerging economies has resulted in a digital divide. Whereas thriving economies are able to provide technology to their students, leading to access to global knowledge and higher education, employment and mobility, the most marginalized lack these chances and therefore suffer the consequences. The author feels compelled, as a member of the Ed Tech community to help those teachers and learners who do not have access to the technology available in first world countries.
